CORVALLIS - Twenty-four middle school bands from Oregon and Washington will perform in the Oregon State University Middle School Band Festival on Thursday, April 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. in LaSells Stewart Center.

Two local schools will participate in the invitational festival. The Westland Middle School band, under the direction of Stephanie McCormick, will perform at 9:25 a.m. At 6:35 p.m. Diane Crocker will direct the Philomath Middle School Band.

The OSU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, conducted by David Becker, will perform at the noon awards ceremony. The second awards ceremony at 4:05 p.m. will feature the OSU Symphonic Band, conducted by Bradley G. Townsend, OSU's director of athletic bands. The festival is free and open to the public.
