CORVALLIS - Andrew C. Klein, professor and head of the Department of Nuclear Engineering at Oregon State University, has also assumed the position of director of the OSU Radiation Center.

Klein has served on the Reactor Operations Committee for the past decade, and has also been director of the Oregon Space Grant Program. His area of expertise is nuclear applications in space. Klein received his doctoral degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Wisconsin in 1983, and has been on the OSU faculty since 1985.

The OSU Radiation Center houses the Department of Nuclear Engineering and is the foundation for most of the work by faculty and students. Research is conducted with the one megawatt TRIGA research reactor in neutron activation analysis, reactor engineering, nuclear facility design, age dating, and biomedical applications.
