CORVALLIS - Two nights of acclaimed international films are being brought to campus by a coalition of Oregon State University student groups. The two-hour screenings in OSU's Milam Auditorium, at 26th Street and Campus Way, are free and open to the public.
The series opens at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, with "Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham," a 2001 romantic drama from India focusing on an adopted son who falls in love with a girl "from the wrong side of the tracks," creating tension in his family. The screening is sponsored by International Students of OSU and OSU's Indian Students Association.
At 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5, a 2000 film from Iran, "The Circle," details the message that a world of constant surveillance, bureaucracy and age-old inequalities cannot extinguish the spirit, strength, and courage of a circle of women. ISOSU and the Iranian Students Association are hosting the event.
