CORVALLIS - An online publication the Oregon State University Extension Service developed about sustainability in Oregon has been named "Web site of the month" by the U.S. Department of Energy's Center for Excellence in Sustainable Development.
The OSU Extension Service produced "Looking for Oregon's Future: What Is Sustainability?" as a tabloid-format printed publication and a web site. The publication was designed to encourage discussion of "the big questions" surrounding sustainability, according to Peter Bloome, associate director of the Extension Service.
The web site, at http://oregonfuture.oregonstate.edu/, tells 33 stories. They include a range of viewpoints related to what sustainability is, and stories about people involved in sustainability efforts across the state of Oregon.
Printed copies are available, also. You can order the printed publication by calling 1-800-561-6719, e-mailing puborders@orst.edu, or writing Publication Orders, Extension & Station Communications, Oregon State University, 422 Kerr Administration, Corvallis, OR 97331-2119. Ask for EM 8784. A brief study guide also is available. There is no charge for up to six copies.
