CORVALLIS - The Oregon State University Alumni Association will host a special screening of "The Rookie," the latest film written by OSU alum Mike Rich.
Two screenings will be held Sunday, April 7, at the Moreland Theatre in Portland, 6712 Milwaukie Ave. Showings will be held at 2 and 6 p.m.
Rich will attend both showings and discuss the movie, as well as provide time before and after each showing for questions. Interviews will be conducted by KATU-TV news anchor Cathy Marshall, an honors graduate at OSU.
"The Rookie" stars Dennis Quaid who plays Jim Morris, a high school science instructor who gets inspired by the high school baseball team he coaches and tries out for the minor leagues, eventually making it to the majors. The film is based on a true story.
The screenings are open to the public; the cost to attend either showing is $7.50 for non-OSU Alumni Association members, $6.50 for members, and $4.50 for children 12 and under. Seating is limited and people interested in attending either showing are urged to contact the OSU Alumni Association at (541) 737-2351 or 1-877-305-3759.
