CORVALLIS - The Oregon State University educational cable channel 18 in Corvallis and Philomath will televise the entire Oregon Legislature special session.

OSU is working on this project in partnership with the Oregon Wireless Instructional Network (WIN) and the Oregon Public Access Network (OPAN).

WIN is a consortium of universities and community colleges that operate an Instructional Television Fixed Service network throughout the Willamette Valley, which provides video programming directly to homes, businesses, schools and government offices from Eugene to Portland. OSU is an active member in the consortium and provides programming and technical expertise.

OSU also hosts OPAN, which brings public affairs programming to Oregonians via cable television. The state television network is modeled after C-Span, which is exclusively dedicated to public affairs programming. OPAN will transmit programs from the OSU campus through a partnership with the Communication Media Center and the New Media Program, providing real-world experience to students who want to pursue media careers after graduation.

Live video and audio coverage of the special session will also be available on the web at www.leg.state.or.us (click on the "Audio/Video" tab).
