CORVALLIS - Crescent Valley High School graduate and Oregon State University football player Seth Trimmer has earned recognition as OSU's College of Business Outstanding Management Student.

Trimmer, an OSU senior in business administration, was honored based on faculty recommendations that praised his academic skills as well as campus and community leadership activities.

A wide receiver for the OSU Beavers, Trimmer's academic and athletic skills have also earned him a spot as a first team honoree on the Verizon Academic All-District VIII Football Team.

To be considered for the academic all-district team, athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, be a starter or significant reserve and be in at least their second year at their current school. District VIII includes schools in Oregon, Washington, California, Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Utah and British Columbia.

The management option in OSU's College of Business helps prepare students for careers as managers and supervisors in goods-producing and service enterprises. Studies focus on management systems, personnel and quality. Students completing the option often pursue careers in law, urban and regional planning, public services administration and health care administration.
