CORVALLIS - An Oregon State University student from Albany has earned appointment to the executive board of the campus Policy and Law Society. Cassie Griffin is executive officer for membership and recruitment for OSU's student chapter of the Policy and Law Society. She also earned a spot on OSU's Scholastic Honor Roll for fall term.

Citing a deep interest in law and environmental policy, Griffin is focused on a future career as a politician or political lobbyist. In high school, she was involved in the Honor Society and Future Farmers of America.

The university's Policy and Law Society is part of the College of Agricultural Sciences Agricultural Executive Council. The society is focused on natural resource and environmental law and policy and has studied a number of regional concerns, including Klamath Basin water issues, designation of the Steens Mountains as a national monument, and consideration of the Owyhee River as a federal wild and scenic river.
