CORVALLIS - The Oregon State University Department of Music will present its annual Honors Recital on Sunday, May 5, at the First United Methodist Church, 1165 N.W. Monroe in Corvallis.
The program, which begins at 1:30 p.m., features solo and ensemble performances by outstanding music students. Graduating students will be honored, and top students will receive awards. The event is free and open to the public. A reception follows the recital.
The singers selected to perform are Jessica Mulock, soprano; Ali Helmboldt, mezzo-soprano; Rachel Hauge, mezzo-soprano; Conrad Buck, baritone; and Jonathan Baltera, bass. They will perform works by Menotti, Ives, Brahms, Handel, Mozart and Verdi.
Featured instrumental soloists are Liesel Bauer, violin; Tim Hatcher, clarinet; Brett Randolph, trumpet; and Jon Dysinger, euphonium. They will perform pieces by Haydn, Brahms, Brandt, and Haddad.
The OSU Trumpet Choir - featuring Molly Beck, Jon Dysinger, Noah Merritt, Brett Randolph, and Heather Rowland - will open the program with a composition by Peter Warlock.
Music department faculty members Angela Carlson, Brian Conatser, Rebecca Jeffers, and Nicola Nine-Zielke will accompany the performers on piano.
