CORVALLIS - Cultural perspectives on gay and transgender lifestyles will be the focus as Oregon State University's Queer Pride Festival starts at the campus Women's Center with a "Pride March" at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 14.

The march will be followed at 11 a.m. with a talk by Corvallis High School physical education teacher Julie Williams in OSU's Memorial Union Room 208. William's topic is "Being a Queer Teacher."

At noon, through Friday, May 18, there will be a "Gay Lunch" in the Memorial Union Quad. A "Pride Tent" in the Quad will serve as a focal point for activities throughout the week.

Monday, May 14

7 p.m.: "If Queer is a $3 Bill, Then I Must Be $1.42," a talk by Eric Garrison, a national lecturer from Indiana, who regularly speaks on sexual issues. Memorial Union Lounge

Tuesday, May 15

3:30 p.m.: "Difficulties With Coming-Out," a talk by Paige Warner, a therapist with OSU's Counseling and Psychological Services. Women's Center.

7 p.m.: "Choir Confluence," music performed by the Salem-based choir. MU Lounge.

Wednesday, May 16 11 a.m.: "Healthy Relationships and Queer Life," a workshop. MU Room 208.

5:30 p.m.: Spaghetti feed. MU Quad.

Thursday, May 17 11 a.m.: "Loveline with Dr. Sex," Kathy Greaves, OSU graduate student and newspaper columnist, holds an open forum for questions about sexual health. MU Room 208.

7 p.m.: Movie and candlelight vigil. Following the screening of the film "Journey to a Hate-free Millennium," the community is invited to a candlelight vigil. La Sells Stewart Center.

Friday, May 18

7 p.m.: Drag Show and Dance. MU Ballroom.
