CORVALLIS - An Oregon State University student from Clackamas has earned the OSU College of Business' Meier & Frank Marketing Student of the Year Award.
Paul McMenamy, a senior, was selected for the honor by College of Business marketing faculty. Lindsay Wiseman, of Dallas, Ore., and Bill Anderson, of Corvallis, both seniors in business, were finalists for the award.
Selection is based on academic transcripts, resumes, and other information documenting the student's achievements and activities. To be eligible for the award, a student must be an undergraduate graduating in the calendar year 2001, enrolled in the marketing option in the College of Business, have an excellent academic record at OSU and have participated in other activities, either on- or off-campus.
McMenamy will graduate in December with bachelor's degrees in business administration and English Literature. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, Golden Key National Honor Society and Mortarboard National Honor Society.
He has also earned the United States Awards Academy All-American Scholar award, the Phi Kappa Phi Junior Accolade, and a Phi Kappa Phi "Best Freshman Essay" Award. His scholarships include the Meier and Frank Business Scholarship, the Edna Jesseph Scholarship, the Mary Holladay Murray Scholarship and the Dickinson Scholarship.
He has been active in the Avery Lodge Executive Council, has served as an intern for the Corvallis Da Vinci Days Festival and as a career assistant for OSU's Career Center.
