CORVALLIS - A wildlife professor and researcher at Oregon State University has received the most prestigious award given by the Oregon chapter of The Wildlife Society, a national professional organization.

Robert G. Anthony recently received the Oregon Wildlife Society Award for "sustained contributions to wildlife conservation."

Anthony is leader of the Oregon Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, a federal research unit based in OSU's Department of Fisheries and Wildlife.

Through his 22-year career at OSU, the research of Anthony and his graduate students and associates has focused on eagles, spotted owls, bears and numerous small mammals.
