CORVALLIS - Orcilia Zuniga-Forbes, vice president for University Advancement at Oregon State University, has been named to the board of trustees of the Meyer Memorial Trust.

The five-member board helps guide the prestigious trust, which has assets of approximately $450 million and expects to make grants totaling about $25 million in the coming year.

Zuniga-Forbes, who has been at OSU since January of 1998, also serves on the boards of the Hispanic Culture Foundation, Portland Metropolitan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Oregon Parks Trust, and Sisters of Providence Health Systems.

As vice president for advancement at OSU, she oversees the university's public outreach, including alumni relations, news, marketing, publications, community relations, and conference services. She also works closely with the OSU Foundation.

The Meyer Memorial Trust was created from the personal estate of Fred G. Meyer. Since 1982, it has awarded more than 3,100 grants totaling nearly $238 million.
