CORVALLIS - The Integrated Plant Protection Center at Oregon State University will host a conference on integrated pest management (IPM) April 6-7 at the CH2M-HILL Alumni Center, located at 725 S.W. 26th St.

Presentations will focus on integrated pest management in agriculture, including success stories, constraints of adopting IPM and potential for future success in crops.

Individuals representing research, growers, agencies, consultants, environmental organizations and industry will give presentations on IPM in cereals, legumes, pastures, forages, grass seed, essential oils, nursery crops, berry and grape crops, vegetables, potatoes, tree fruits and nuts. National, regional and state programs and policies will be featured.

Keynote speakers include Paul Risser, OSU president; Lyla Houglum, director of the OSU Extension Service; Harold Coble, North Carolina State University and national IPM programs; Michael Gray, University of Illinois IPM coordinator; Charles Benbrook, consultant; Mark Whalon, Michigan State University; and Bob Bailey, a producer.

The $40 registration for the conference includes breaks, two lunches and a reception on the evening of April 6.
