CORVALLIS - New and continuing students in Oregon State University's College of Agricultural Sciences have been awarded $67,000 in scholarships. The awards were made possible by gifts to the E.R. Jackman Foundation and the OSU Foundation.
Beginning Venture Scholarships of either $1,000 or $2,000 were awarded to students entering the college. Continuing Venture awards of $1,500 were made to second year agricultural honors students.
Receiving Beginning Venture scholarships were (Continuing Venture list to follow):
Anna-Marie Pimm, daughter of Dick and Doris Pimm, received the $1,000 Summers Agricultural Honors scholarship. The Lacomb Composite High School graduate is studying animal sciences at Linn-Benton Community College in the OSU-LBCC joint enrollment program.
Kristi Mason, daughter of Dean and Joyce Mason, received a $1,000 Lawrence E. and Marguerite Kaseberg Memorial Agricultural Honors scholarship. The 1998 graduate of Riverside High School is enrolled in a pre-veterinary medicine program in animal sciences.
Matthew Arata, son of Louis and Linda Arata, received a $1,000 Harvest States Foundation scholarship. The 1995 graduate of Bonanza High School entered OSU from Linn-Benton Community College to study agricultural business management.
Zola Gibson, daughter of Irvin and Karen Gibson, received a $1,000 Pendleton Grain Growers scholarship. The 1996 graduate of Burns High School is studying rangeland resources in the OSU program at Eastern Oregon University after transferring from Treasure Valley Community College.
Tara Norris, daughter of John and Dianne Norris, received the $1,000 Grange Co-op Agricultural Honors scholarship. The 1998 graduate of South Medford High School is studying general agriculture at OSU.
Peter Gregg, son of Kevin and Michaele Gregg, received a $1,000 Harvest States Foundation scholarship. The 1998 graduate of Estacada High School is studying horticulture at OSU.
William Johnson, son of Bill and Linda Johnson, received a $1,000 Jess Hanson scholarship. The 1998 Eagle Point High School graduate is majoring in wildlife science.
Jessica Dutton, daughter of Mark and Kimberly Dutton, and Aimee Wurst, daughter of David and Taube Wurst, each received a $1,000 scholarship given by Harvest States Foundation. Both are 1998 Hidden Valley High graduates enrolled in animal sciences.
Adam Poole, son of Don and Cindy Poole, received a $1,000 Clifford Smith Memorial scholarship. The 1998 Hood River Valley graduate is pursuing a double major in food science and technology and horticulture.
Craig King, son of Dennis and Susan King, received a $1,000 Loren J. Smith Memorial scholarship. The 1998 graduate of Central High School is studying crop and soil science.
Heath Perkowski Curtiss, son of Shelley Curtiss, received the $1,000 H. Clayton Fox Agricultural Honors scholarship and the $1,000 Pendleton Grain Growers scholarship. The 1997 Joseph High School grad is majoring in agricultural and resource economics.
Eric Feldhusen, son of Carl and Sue Feldhusen, received the $1,000 Paul and Frances Montecucco Beginning Venture scholarship. The 1998 graduate of Kimberly High School is studying horticulture.
Darrin Culp, son of Donald and Susan Culp, received a $1,000 Harvest States Foundation scholarship. The 1998 Henley High School graduate is majoring in crop and soil science.
Jessica Gage, daughter of Ed and Sheila Gage, received a $1,000 Chambers Leadership Agricultural Honors scholarship. The 1998 Lakeview High School graduate is enrolled in agricultural business management in the OSU program at Eastern Oregon University.
Jody Nartz, daughter of Bob and Lynn Hair, received the $1,000 scholarship given by Cenex Supply and Marketing of Tangent and Cenex Supply and Marketing of Madras. The 1998 Madras High School graduate is studying agricultural and resource economics.
Matthew Northrop, son of Rick and Barbara Northrop, received a $1,000 scholarship given by the Frank Burlingham Family and the Grain Elevator and Processing Society. The 1998 graduate of South Medford High School is studying fisheries science.
Carrie Koch, daughter of Ron and Irene Koch, received a $1,000 O.M. Plummer Memorial Agricultural Honors scholarship. The 1995 Neah-Kah-Nie High School graduate is studying animal sciences at OSU after transferring from Linn-Benton Community College.
Kristen Vandiver, daughter of Jane Blust, received the $1,000 Eugene H. Fisher Agricultural Honors scholarship. The 1998 graduate of Newport High School is enrolled in a pre-veterinary medicine program in animal sciences.
Jolene Aubert, daughter of Leonard and Karen Aubert, received a $1,000 Lawrence E. and Marguerite Kaseberg Memorial scholarship. The 1998 Hood River Valley graduate is enrolled in the bioresource research program.

Jackman Foundation in honor of Karla Chambers, and the Kasberg Family in memory of Lawrence E. and Marguerite Kaseberg. The 1997 Pendleton High School graduate is studying agricultural business management.
Joseph Feldhaus, son of Mark and Laurie Feldhaus, received a $1,000 Clifford Smith Memorial scholarship. The 1998 graduate of Pacific High School is studying fisheries science.
Suzanne Broda, daughter of Karel and Linda Broda, received the $1,000 scholarship given by Douglas County Farmers Co-op. The 1998 Roseburg High School graduate is enrolled in a pre-veterinary program in animal sciences.
Elizabeth Wolf, daughter of James and Theresa Wolf, received the $1,000 scholarship given by Ernst Hardware-Cascade Tractor. The 1998 graduate of St. Paul High School is studying animal sciences.
Megan Hoffart, daughter of Terrance and Christine Hoffart, received a $1,000 Frank Burlingham Memorial scholarship. The 1998 Central Catholic graduate is studying agricultural business management.
Kyla Ryan, daughter of Terrence Ryan and Dawn Pavitt, received a $1,000 College of Agricultural Sciences Dean's scholarship. The 1998 Newport High School graduate is enrolled in a pre-veterinary medicine program in animal sciences.

Brenda Baird, daughter of Dave and Sherry Hug, received a $1,000 Loren J. Smith Memorial scholarship. The 1995 Imbler High School graduate is studying crop and soil science in the OSU program offered at Eastern Oregon University. She entered the OSU major after transferring from Pensacola Junior College.
Brooke Haskins, daughter of Wyatt and Glenda Haskins, received a $1,000 scholarship from Harvest States Foundation. The 1998 Phoenix High School graduate is studying general agriculture.
Amber Kirby, daughter of Bert and Kathy Kirby, received a $1,000 scholarship given by the Harvest States Foundation. The 1998 graduate of Union High School is studying agricultural business management in the OSU program offered on the Eastern Oregon University campus.
Kristine Reid, daughter of Chris and Kathy Rankin, received a $2,000 scholarship given by Farm Credit Services and Wilco Farmers. The 1997 Willamina High School graduate is studying agricultural business management.

David Bennett, son of Bob and Karen Bennett, received a $1,000 Ursula Bolt Knaus scholarship. The 1998 graduate of Petersburg High School is studying fisheries sciences.

Nicole Holcomb, daughter of Lorraine Holcomb, received a $1,000 scholarship given by A-BTechnologies International. The 1998 graduate of Buchanan High School is enrolled in a pre-veterinary medicine program in animal sciences.
Michelle Howard, daughter of Gary and Renee Howard, received a $1,000 scholarship given by the Naumes family. The 1998 graduate of Fortuna High School is studying food science and technology.
Chris Siouris received a $1,000 scholarship given by the Jernstedt family.

Kimberly Padilla, daughter of Sheryl Shivley, received a $1,000 scholarship given by A-B Technologies International. The 1996 Glenwood Springs High School graduate is enrolled in the bioresource research program. She transferred to OSU from Colorado Mountain College.

Amy Hess, daughter of Lisa Hess, received the $1,000 Summers Agricultural Honors scholarship. The 1998 Jerome High School graduate is studying animal sciences.
