CORVALLIS - Kathleen Mulligan, director of facilities services at Oregon State University, will leave her position at OSU in April to become vice president for facilities at Princeton University.

Mulligan, who has been at OSU for more than 10 years, oversees Oregon State's physical plant, environmental health and safety and facilities planning. She also helps coordinate the construction program for the main campus and has been involved in projects totaling more than $130 million, including the new forest research laboratory, The Valley Library expansion, the Child Care Center, and the Family Study Center.

In 1996, Mulligan receive the State of Oregon Management Association Excellence in Public Service Award for "Best Example of Outstanding Achievement." She was cited for her work in turning the facilities services department into a more customer-oriented organization.

Before coming to OSU, Mulligan spent 10 years in the California public university system, including a stint as executive assistant to the vice president for administration at the University of California-Northridge.

Rob Specter, vice president for finance and administration, said the university will immediately begin a search to fill Mulligan's position.
