CORVALLIS - Two Oregon State University students are taking leadership positions at the university's Asian Cultural Center

Katy Yen, an OSU senior from Portland, will serve as cultural center coordinator, and Jennifer Dulay, a sophomore from Aloha, takes the duties of assistant coordinator.

Yen will select and train staff at the center, as well as direct staff and advisory board meetings.

Yen is president of OSU's Asian Pacific Student Union and has served as an OSU undergraduate senator for liberal arts. She is majoring in psychology with a minor in ethnic studies and is focusing on the cross-cultural aspect of psychology in relation to Asian-Americans living in the United States.

Dulay will supervise the center's office staff, coordinate work schedules and maintain the center's operating budget. She has served as events coordinator at the center for the past year.

The Asian Cultural Center is one of four student cultural centers at OSU. The centers provide a focus for cultures and traditions on the OSU campus and support students in their pursuit of educational goals and recognition of cultures. The other centers are the Black Cultural Center, Hispanic Cultural Center and the Native American Longhouse.
