CORVALLIS - An annual exhibit featuring works produced by graduating seniors studying art at Oregon State University will go on display beginning today in Fairbanks Gallery. The gallery is located in Fairbanks Hall on the OSU campus.

More than 30 students receiving their undergraduate degrees will exhibit work representing all of the department's major areas of emphasis, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, graphic design, photography, mixed media and ceramic sculpture.

The public is invited to a reception for the artists in Fairbanks Gallery on Thursday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m. At the reception, Roy Arnold, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at OSU, will present the 1998 Provost's Purchase Award. Kay Schaffer , dean of the College of Liberal Arts, will present the 1998 Dean's Award.

The Department of Art will announce the winners of numerous scholarships, including the Sponenburgh Travel Grant, the Norma Seibert Print Scholarship, the Yaquina Art Association Scholarship, the Matsen-Davidson Art Scholarship, and the American Dream Scholarship.

Fairbanks Gallery is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit will continue through June 12.
