CORVALLIS - An Oregon State University senior in forest engineering is taking the post of station manager for OSU's KBVR Television.

Jeffery Bennett, of Corvallis, who has been the KBVR assistant station manager, will begin his new duties at the student-run station this spring. Bennett has worked as a student engineer and produced his own show - KBVR Sports Extra.

The station focuses on local news coverage and provides a forum for student-produced programming such as how-to shows and dramas.

KBVR has complete editing facilities and remote gear and offers practical training in television production. KBVR can be seen on cable channel 99 in Corvallis, Albany, Lebanon and Philomath from 7 p.m. to midnight Monday-Thursday. The university also operates the student-run radio station, KBVR-FM at 88.7 on the radio dial
