CORVALLIS - Some of the latest information about El Nino, whale migration, giant waves, undersea volcanoes, global warming, and other topics will be featured in a course on marine science being broadcast around Oregon this spring.

Titled "Ocean Research Frontiers," the Oregon State University extended education course can be monitored on cable television in several metropolitan areas for free, or taken for undergraduate course credit.

Martin Fisk, an associate professor of ocean and atmospheric science, will coordinate the course. It will be on television in the Portland, Corvallis and Medford areas, and available on videotape elsewhere. Lectures begin March 30 and will be presented by a variety of researchers.
