CORVALLIS- Oregon State University will celebrate Hispanic Night '99 with a dinner, cultural show and dance at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan.16, in the university's Memorial Union Ballroom.

Tickets will be available at the door. Adult tickets are $8 for dinner and dancing; children, 12 and under are $3. Dance-only tickets are $4, with dancing to the band Nuevo Era (New Era) starting at 8 p.m. and continuing through 12:30 a.m.. The event is sponsored by OSU's Hispanic Student Union.

Speakers, cultural dance performances by OSU students, and dinner, will fill the evening through 7:30 p.m.

Featured speaker is Hector Hernandez, a master's student in teaching from the University of Oregon, who will address current Hispanic issues, said Patricia Garcia, of the Hispanic Student Union.

Cultura (Culture), a musical trio, will perform during dinner, Garcia said.

The Hispanic Student Union is one of more than 30 multicultural student organizations at OSU. The Hispanic Student Union presents cultural events based in Hispanic culture and intended to reach and educate others on campus.
