CORVALLIS - Scientists, students, interested citizens, land owners, regulators, land use planners and managers are invited to attend the 1996 annual James A. Vomocil water quality conference at Oregon State University. The annual conference will be held at OSU's LaSells Stewart Center on Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Presentations by regional university and agency scientists at this year's conference will focus on:

-the impact of the flood of 1996 on water quality;

-the health significance of water quality;

-surface-ground water relationships and how they affect steam temperature measurements;

-nutrient management as a part of a water quality protection program.

"Our goal is to speak in a language understandable to the entire community concerned about water," said Ron Miner, water quality specialist with the OSU Extension Service and conference coordinator.

Registration fees are $30 per person.
